Re: [APML] SGBNR [was: M42 smoothed]
Hi Matt,
Indeed SGBNR is free. Since we love both astrophotography and programming,
we really enjoy very much writing software like SGBNR. This program
originated as (and it still is) a simple experimental tool. At its first
developmental stages SGBNR simply implemented some procedures that we were
doing manually in Photoshop for some time. Then we had one of our brightest
programming ideas: sharing this work with the APML. The suggestions, help
and enthusiasm we received from the people of the APML were so clever and
kind, that simply knowing that our software can be somewhat useful is more
than rewarding for us. We hope we'll be able to further develop SGBNR
having the invaluable collaboration of the APML. Finishing our new house
and moving to it is filling all our free time now (no AP since May, ouch!),
but I think next version of SGBNR will be available for public release in
February, including lots of great suggestions and bug fixes from users
worldwide. We hope also to be able to write (with some help!) a
comprehensive users manual.
So we are not trying to market SGBNR in any way. We do have other software
projects in mind and maybe they will become commercial ones, but not SGBNR.
Best regards,
