Yes I understand the difficulty. That's why I have gone this long without
trying. The secondary is not centered now and I suspect that is why TNR
assumed they had it collimated. But I can see fairly easily that the
secondary is not critically centered with the optical axis. That will be my
first step; centering the secondary.
This scope has enormous potential. But there remains to be seen if one can
be collimated by 1), Takahashi or one of their dealers; OR 2), one of the
scope's owners. I guess we'll see where me and Takahashi get to before we
are through.
