Thanks for the advice.  Would you say this applies
to tp work with the traveler as well?  No need for an Mv?

No need for minus violet filter with the Traveler. I have taken many exposures with both TP film and CCD cameras and never use a filter for the luminance.

This is an unfortunate consequence because I routinely
use an lps under my mag 5.5 skies.  Although the improvement
is modest, I do get a touch deeper. I guess I could always buy a 105mm lps...

For skyglow and to increase contrast I have used the Baader Moon/Skyglow filter to good effect. This filter has optical polish on both surfaces and is multicoated. The filtering is inherent in the Neodymium glass instead of being some kind of reflective coating on the surface which can cause ghosts. Putting a 105mm filter in front of the lens may also present problems. Rarely are these filters polished to 1/4 wave standards.
