Re: [APML] Meteor Shower film recommendations
Polarizing filters: I had high hopes for using polarizing filters as well, but I can tell you from tests I did last year that there appeared to be little benefit. It appeared that moonlight was reduced (best effect @ 90 degrees from the moon), but then the filter effectively reduces all light by almost a full stop. I could barely see the polarizing effect through my viewfinder...I wasn't sure I was actually seeing it rather than presuming it!
Film: I'm sticking with Fujipress 800 (because of its high reciprocity failure) and will shoot 1-2 minute exposures @ f/2 (I've got f/1.4 and f/1.7 lenses).
Also, my wonderful brother is loaning me his Canon 1D; it will be automatically recording 1 min exposures on its own. How cool is that?
