I'll second that suggestion. Optically and
mechanically, it's likely to be a great beginner's
setup. The OTA can later be attached to a more
substantial mount when finances permit. Optically,
if the LXD-55 is anything like the older MTS-SN6,
it will be a pleasant surprise and far better than
you'd expect for the price. The only downside of the
scope is that, AFAIK, no one has figured out how to
drive the mount with an autoguider.
