Re: [APML] Payment for astrophotos - Docs & Lawyers
Don't go after me, either - my dad taught agency and contracts at John
Marshall Law School in Chicago, when he wasn't practicing in the areas of
probate, estate planning and trusts. Most legal troubles don't come from
attorneys. They come from the turkeys we send to Congress and the state
legislatures who write the laws. My dad used to curse the IRS' 'Uniform Tax
Code' every year. Uniform - hah!!
Many times, lawyers get paid on contingency. If you get nothing, neither do
they. Some of John Grisham's novels portray how tough it is to be a
small-town lawyer. Like most professions, it isn't easy anywhere. My dad
pushed my two brothers and me towards math and science because he didn't
see a very good future in law.
Maybe that subject line should be 'Send Lawyers, Guns and Money". That's
what you want when the sh*& hits the fan.
(end of soap boxing)
