Re: [APML] Payment for astrophotos

Chris,

I get email requests all the time from folks who want to use my images for free. In general I require payment. I typically only give away images if I believe in the cause (e.g. IDA, RASC). Each request is an opportunity to educate the requester about the work required to do AP. I suggest that every astrophotographer with a web site write a page that describes how much effort, skill and luck are involved. Requesters can be directed to such a page. Perhaps if there are a few more folks who appreciate our work, then perhaps our images would fetch more.
