RE: [APML] Celestron/Epoch 8" Schmidt 35mm Illumination



Chris,

 The image I shot was near zenith  and the sky at mag 6.5. Yes, a sky
gradient can cause this, though I doubt to this degree. Your points are well
taken but this is about the best controlled conditions I can do. The
non-linear response of the film makes the results not reflect actual light
profile of the optics though it does not effect symmetry. Using a CCD would
show the actual light dropoff of the optics.
