Well, several workarounds, again:

a) don't use these programs
b) look to find alternatives, which are available in many cases, often
at least as good. Really interesting things are interesting enough to be
published here and elsewhere.
c) write (or find someone who writes) some missing pieces of software
d) try if your software works with VMWare or such
  - a list of software which does would be of some interest to many
e) work with more than 1 computer and/or boot manager

Also, there are many very good softwares, available for Unix or X and
compatibles, which are not available for any flavor of Windoze (Xephem,
various "professional" image tools, etc).

Btw, I prefer to do a-c) - depending on case, plan to try d) somewhen,
and while I practise e) in both flavors, I still don't have nor want to
have Windoze .. :)
