[APML] Monster in Auriga Posted

Thar she blows!

10 minutes on Fuji Superia Press 800 with a 50mm f/1.2 AIS Nikkor at f/2.
The image has been cropped a bit to remove some of the seagulls. I'm a
little disappointed that there's nothing of IC405/410 prominent on the
negative.

This meteor came through about 3-4 minutes into the exposure, and the
remnants of the smoke train are still visible in the next 10-minute shot
(but no meteors). I might have got a little better detail in the smoke
train if I had ended this exposure a couple of minutes earlier, but I wanted
to stay on plan with 10 minutes shots. Auriga didn't seem to get a lot of
action during the shower, but this one's a keeper. Especially since it's
the first successful meteor shot I've ever posted.

Sincerely,
Jon Kolb
