A very simple process once you have the filter material. You will get
complete instructions with the material if you order from Astro-Physics,
which is the supplier of the best material available. You can check it out
(including instructions) at their website. Go to
http://www.astro-physics.com/

Then click on "BAADER AstroSolarT White Light Solar Filter Material from
Baader Planetarium " in the lower right corner of the main screen. Then in
the text that comes up, find:  "Each order will come with instructions to
make a simple and effective solar filter for your telescope. " and click on
the underlined link in that sentence. You will see nice instructions with
illustrations that you can download.
