RE: [APML] Leo Radiant

> Thanks a lot... helps to know where to aim! With any luck Sunday AM is
supposed to actually be clear and dry in this area so we might get to see
it...

Tony,

I don't know if this has been covered here yet, but it is in fact better to
aim the camera in an angle of, say, 30-45 degrees away from the radiant.
Orion, Taurus, Gemini or similarly to the other direction would be better if
you want a higher chance of getting meteors on film. Aiming the camera
straight at Leo would most likely produce NO meteors at all. The same goes for
viewing. Do not look straight at Leo if you want to spot meteors. Only the
very few meteors that come right at you will show there.

Also, when the radiant is very low, the meteors will be longer, and may
stretch across the entire sky.

Hope you all get clear skies for the weekend. It's hard to guess what we will
get here in Norway, but fingers crossed! :)

Best regards, mailto:mikkel@messier45.com
