[APML] More Leonid Recommendations

Hi Group;

I've been reading all the group advice and books, and getting personal advice
with regards to photographing the upcoming meteor shower. I just want to run my
situtation by everyone;

I'm a complete beginner, still trying to learn the basics, and have never
pointed a camera skyward, so this will be my first attempt, weather permitting.
The location should be fairly dark to dark skywise. I intend to use a Canon
AE-1P (old, but still takes nice terrestrial photos) with a Canon 50mm lens. I
plan on experimenting, but will probably go mostly with f/1.8 and f/2. A friend
of mine who has lots of experience, but not with astrophotography, strongly
recommended using professional slide film, 400 and 800, either Kodak or Fuji,
leaning towards Fuji.

Any further advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated, especially if
you think this is a bad way for a beginner to get started.....

Thanks in advance.

Daryn Baker

Any further advice and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
