RE: [APML] Leonid plans

Mark
May I suggest that you not use LE400. I used 400 film in 1999 in Arizona at
f/2 and while I saw many bright meteors almost none were recorded. I would
say 800 is the minimum. The best meteors I ever recorded were with tri-X
developed in Diafine which pushed it to, I believe, 1600. I am not sure they
even make diafine any longer, that was 30 years ago.

I have two cameras. One will have fugi 800 and the other LE400 (that's
what's in them now). They will both be piggy back on my mount. One will
have a 50mm lens and the other will have a 55mm lens. I plan on waking up
my 5 year old daughter around 4am, taking her out the the observatory in my
back yard, letting her help me open the shutters, then settling down in a
lounge chair with her under many blankets. I know, not as hard core as
some of the others, but some quality time with my daughter. If I get some
images, great. If not, it will still be time well spent!
