I've had no problems with the SS120 SCSI-2 interface with Win2K.  It worked
the first time I hooked it up and has worked every time since then.  I
didn't try it on my old 98 machine, but the SS4000 always worked fine on
that one.

You're right about the mechanical limitations - I don't see how firewire
would really help anything with the SS120.
