RE: [APML] Warped slides, what can I do?

Chris,

I've had poor luck recovering warped mounts. However, it should be possible
to crack open the warped mounts and salvage the film.

I still think the best mount is taped glass (now I'm really showing that I'm
a dinosaur), but the Gepe brand mounts work well and should be readily
available from any good sized supply house.

You will want to look for anti-Newton ring glass and registration pins in
the mounts, and there are many other brands out there that will work, so I
don't think that this is beyond salvage. If you don't have a local supplier
I've had good luck with Freestyle in LA and BH in New York, although you'd
have to pay for premium shipping that will be more than the cost of the
mounts.

Good luck.

Bill
