Depending upon how expensive the 18" convex mirror is you could
experiment with a Garden Gazing Ball or a polished and chromed Moon hubcap.
Same principal, possibly a more cost saving experiment...joe :)

I am sorry I do not have the actual information for you. This was done by a
guy in Arizona I believe several years ago on SEDS. I am sure you can find
the info. It seems he mounted the camera over the mirror and looked straight
down with a 135mm film camera lens. It was ok I did it with a truck mirror
and the results were not great but doable.
I am sure you can come up with something.
Brian the exposure times can be greater due to the curvature of the mirror
have the effect of less problems with the movement of the earth.
