Re: [APML] Of interest to Pacific NW imagers: Imaging the SkyConference

it was two days last time. 2x30 = 60

they want, what, $150 or more?

i went last fall. it was a blast to meet all these people that i've
corresponded with for years.
one or two of the talks were good but most weren't from my perspective.

either they were free of annoying technical content or the speakers just
weren't good speakers or the topic was just not very good.

i didn't get the feeling that the organizers have much experience organizing
technical conferences or perhaps getting cooperation from the speakers was
equivalent to herding cats; maybe both
I don't want to be too hard on them, i did enjoy myself but i don't feel
like I got $150 worth out of the conference.

I don't plan to attend this fall right now. I may change my mind if it looks
like they will do something fundamentally different but since the group
organizing it is the same and they seem to be happy with what they did last
time, i don't expect much difference
