David - great images! I agree that the M63 is outstanding. I found that the
M51 could stand some curve stretching to keep the core as is but bring out
the fainter outer halo. I have been helped a lot by being taught how to use
the High Pass Filter technique. I tried it on your jpeg and it made a big
improvement ( I think! ).
