Sounds like a trend. Maybe by the time I'm ready to replace this new
one, the 1900X1200 LCDs will be half the current price. I can probably
live with that. To this point, I didn't even know these things were
available. 
 
In looking briefly at the specs for these, I noticed contrast ratios
varying from 500:1, to 350:1. Keeping in mind that I'm
technology-challenged, I am correct to assume that the larger contrast
ratio (500:1) is preferable? And, how does this number compare to the
average CRT?
