great report! Aren't deserts fun? I'll have to remember the UV-based
scorpion detection technique for my text trip! <g>

I missed most comet NEAT's northern hemisphere visibility (either too much
work, bad weather, or a combination of both), but managed to photograph
it near the SMC during a visit to South Africa last March (see my other
posting).
