Re: [APML] hasselblad ap?

Jeff,

I've been using Hasselblads for wide-field piggyback and tripod-
mounted planetary alignment photos for about a year now. My main
scope doesn't have enough coverage for 6x6 (120) format, so I do
not use it at prime focus yet. Here are some of my more recent
efforts. There are a few more on my web site (link in signature
below) follow the link to Film images.

The Dippers (short exposure tripod)...

Comet NEAT C/2001 Q4 (crop of larger image, sorry-scanner streaks)...

Milky Way rising (1 hour 30mm fisheye)...

Star Trails (40mm lens, first 3 hour, others 1 hour each)...

Rho Ophiuchi complex (1 hour, I should have gone deeper, but 75 miles
from NYC doesn't allow me to approach our dark sky colleagues)...

The photos above are all Fuji Provia 400F, except Rho Ophiuchi, which
was shot on E200.

The 500C/M is my favorite body for astrophotography. The 100mm f/3.5
is supposed to be the best corrected lens for infinity, and I like
it a lot. I recently got an old 30mm f/3.5 fisheye, and plan to take
a number of Milky Way photos this summer. I got a 2000FCW for its
multiple exposure capability to shoot a lunar eclipse sequence in
November, and with the shutter speed multiplier, it is my favorite
boby for the planetary alignment shots, as I can set the shutter to
speeds from 1 sec to 1 min. This allows me the time to concentrate
on bracketing, instead of counting seconds...

I have replaced the old screens with Beattie Intenscreens.
