Re: [APML] 2 more photos from TSP

Hey Kent,

Good question. I noticed the central hazy effect after I brought the scan into PhotoShop. When scanning med format film, I am using the glass film holder (Tony Hallas advised me to order the glass holder so it will flatten the 120 format film). I opened the glass holder for the first time Monday night...it was filthy. Much cleaning still has not removed all of the smudges and debris (hence the large black particle on my Eagle Nebula shot). I'll rescan the shot tonight and place the film in a different section (I gotta rescan the Eagle Neb shot as well).

If this doesn't eliminate the hazy center, I did shoot NGC7000 twice. Although the 2nd shot has a little bit of star trailing, I may scan it to see if it has the same central haze effect. Haven't seen this on any of my other shots.

Does the North Am/Pelican photo look like it has too much red or not enough
or just right?

Thx,

Phil:
Looks like you had a good time at TSP.
Your North America and Pelican looks nice, however what is the central hazy area?
At first it looks like fall off from the center outward and infact the red Ha tones toward the outside
get darker the farther out it goes.

Nice Omega Centauri.
