Re: [APML] Miscellaneous

Thanks Stuart !

I saw the vignetting too but if I remove the vignetting ( I use Photoshop and I'm not sure how to do that ;) , it will darken the picture so I'll lose details in the tail of the comet so I prefer to live with the vignetting and see a litle bit more details on tail.

Clear skies !

Dom, great pics as usual! I like the one of NEAT w M44. It has a noticeable vignetting which I know you could remove to improve the shot. I am also impressed by your Fisheye shot of the Milky Way - 15 minutes at f/4 on Supra400 - wow! That sky was very dark as you say.

Subject: [APML] Miscellaneous

Hi all !

I placed 4 of my pictures on my site because the gallery of spacew.com is "tilted", they will be there later but I give you the scoop here before ;)

The milky way at 16mm in the blackest site (direction south) that I
knows to date, at St.-Camille (130km to the Southeast of Quebec, close to the US border)( 16mm @ f4 , 15 min , kodak supra 400 )

A litle aurora that appeared before raising of the day at St.-Camille (28mm @ f 2.8, 20 sec,  kodak supra 400)

The comet Neat Q4 and M44 at St.-Philémon (100km in the S-E of Quebec) (135mm @ f 2.8, 10 minutes, fuji superia 800, May 16, 2004)

And finally, reflecting Venus in a frozen lake, in visual it was very similar to my photo !!! (28mm @ f 2.8, 1 minute on motorized mount, fuji superia 800, May 7, 2004, Camp Mercier at 75 km  north of Quebec city )

btw : Chris , I know that fuji is a "yucky" film for astrophoto , but it will stay my favorite for the northern lights ! My last attempt ( may 16 , 2004 ) with the fuji superia 800 on the summer triangle show NGC-7000 nebula red !!! I'll have to try it again on others nebula to see if this film is good again for astrophoto :) I too will try the Konica centuria , I just hope the grain will be good with this film !

Clear skies !

Dom :)
