The event itself is so different, so unique, that one could think a little differently... it ain't all about a pretty picture!
The last Venus transit, some 118 years ago, was when astronomers *first* realized that Venus had a thick atmosphere... because telescopic and photographic technology had evolved to the point where a faint fuzzy 'ring' could be discerned around the central disc during the transit!
We, as amateurs, can once again resolve Venus' atmosphere... for the first time in all those many years! To show this 'fuzz ring' to others, we need :::FOCAL LENGTH:::. and fast film to catch it's fleeting passage. I'm going for the display of the Venusian atmosphere...
Focal Length... Fast Film...
