I'll try, but i have to get out of here soon. Busy work season for me.
FS-102 (820mm f/l), guided off-axis (keeps the weight WAY down).
I usually use 1-3 sec guide exposures, boost depends on guidestar
brightness. I like it between 15-25. At this focal length, I use C-20
in each axis, that moves the star about 25 units in each axis during
calibration.
Gemini needs to be in 'photo mode', and I try get the movement down to
8X or 16X, before I start with the ST-4 so that when I center the star
on the chip, I don't move it off the chip. Before I start calibration,
I go to moving speeds under setup, and set the guide speed to 0.8. Once
calibration is done (always the first time), I then go back and re-set
the guide speed to 0.5, before I start tracking. This is supposed to
keep aggressiveness to a minimum.
