[APML] Light pollution filters and Comet NEAT

I posed this question over the weekend, but  everyone with clear skies 
was probably out imaging.
I'm interested in shooting Comet Neat from my SF Bay Area location, and 
wonder if a Hutech
IDAS filter will attenuate the comet in addition to the local light 
pollution.

Yes, I could try with and without, but the Bay Area has been plagued 
with marine fog for over a week.
I'll be lucky to get 10 minutes of holes in the clouds!
