That is a great shot. A couple of thoughts on the purple fringing.
Maybe Adobe Camera Raw can minimize this in its conversion as it has a
setting for correcting CA. Also, there is a new program out DxO Optics
I believe that is to be able to correct many common lens errors. It is
specific to the particular lens. Maybe worth looking into. Here is a
link. Great shot. Our weather has been pitiful during the current new
moon. It is really looking like a total washout. I get depressed when
May is a total wash.

Hello, all,
This is Comet NEAT, shot Saturday night, May 15, from a church parking
lot in Racine County. It was a mad run south for me to get out from
under some clouds. We've had a LOT of rain lately.
The shot was taken with a Nikon D100 and a 300mm f/2.8 lens. More data
is with the picture. It is a 3 picture layered combo.
