Other than the comet and the objects in the Sagittarius region, what objects
do you recommend I attempt to photograph at the Texas Star Party? This will
my first time to attend TSP with an autoguider, so I can now image objects
beyond what was a 30 minute manual guiding mental capacity. I have a 5" APO
refractor at f/8, and also have an f/5.9 focal reducer. I will *not* be
using hypered film. I use Provia 400 and Supra 400.

Thanks in advance.

Phil:
As they say, "The skies the limit".
You'll have the whole sky to choose from, except the winter objects.
The comet(s) after sundown, Omega Centauri to the south. Galaxies overhead until after midnight.
I think the best TSP sky is from midnight to dawn.
The summer Milky Way rising in the east will look like a cloud bank and by dawn will be almost overhead.
West Texas has already had over nine inches of rain this year, which is what they normally receive for an entire year........so everything is green, including the Prude Ranch, which is a rarity.
I understand even the upper observing field is green with grass. This should mean clearer skies without the usual dust.
