Thanks. I like that shot the best too. BTW I changed a little the curves in the middtones and now it looks a bit better (specially the LMC).

Yes, but if you stack several images it isn't a problem. In this case, all of them are single shots, becouse I was testing the 28mm and the 200mm and I wanted not to waste too much time if they had poor optics. The Crux shot is also a single one, becouse I was experimenting with Marco's technique to combine a diffused shot with a normal one.
In any case, I doubt that you can see some grain in those pics, becouse I used some very powerfull tools to reduce the noise. First with Wavelets I foght all the high-frecuency noise (typically from the scanner). Then, with Deconvolution, I recovered the shape of the faint stars, while reducing a little the noise. Finally, with SGBNR applied to the Lab channels, I atacked the large scalle noise, typically the film's grain. I am 99% sure that all that you can see in the images are stars or real structures (made from unresolved stars, gas, etc.).
