RE: Antwort: RE: [APML] A Pair of Bradfields
Thanks Stefan,
I found the image taken with a 200/300 Schmidt, which sounds a lot
like the Celestron 8". Nice! The SXV-H9 would be a good fit. Do you know how
they flattened the field? Even with the physically small H9 detector, the
Schmidt will have a lot of curvature at the focal plane. At f1.5 it would
really show. I am not ready to cannibalize my Schmidt yet, Kodak still make
film. It's nice to know that someone has turned one into a dedicated CCD
astrograph!

Hi John,

Michael Jaeger and Gerald Rhemann have rebuilt their Schmidtcameras to use
it with Starlight SXV-H9 CCD - cameras.
Check out www.astrostudio.at for images. Right now they are travelling to
Namibia to catch Neat and Linear and dark skies.
Unfortunately they have no Schmidt with them but the use a kind of Leica APO
lens to produce RGB images ot these two comets.
