I admit I don't keep up on equipment very much so I went to the Orion 
page and looked up the Astroview. I see there are a bunch of Astroview 
scopes. I assume it doesn't have a field flattener based on the price 
so it will have a field curvature problem too.

Although this film buckling problem has come up on APML from time to 
time, the majority of focus problems are just poor focus. Don's image 
looks too symmetrically out of focus to me to be anything other than 
simple out of focus. Film buckling usually goes in and out of focus 
across the frame.
