RE: [APML] My first picture



Here's a link to a snapshot of my mount.  Note the hideous swivelling 
monstrosity - I just got my Bogen ball joint adapter yesterday, but I 
haven't mounted it yet since the female thread in the bottom is 3/8", I 
was expecting 1/4". The sighting scope came from an old Tasco refractor.

For that shot I did sight in on Polaris - I'm crossing my fingers for my 
next batch, since I shot them from my deck where I can't quite see the 
star.  To see Polaris I have to go way out in my back yard where the 
trees obscure the rest of the sky.  I plan to get out to a real 
observing site as soon as I can with the ball joint mounted.

By the way, that shot was with Kodak 800 Versatility, which some people 
have asked about here.  Very grainy but good for a beginner like me.
