[APML] New Mexico Adventure

Once again, clear skies will elude Colorado astrophotographers at new
moon, so I'm hitting the road for New Mexico. The Clear Sky Clock for
Etscorn Campus of NM Tech in Socorro looks good for tonight and (so far)
tomorrow, so I'm going to poke around in the Cibola NF out near the VLA.
According to the light pollution map, the Plains of San Augustin are a
Bortle Scale 1, which is just what I need. Besides, I haven't had a
good adventure for a while anyway, would like to see the VLA, and it's a
much shorter trip than Chiricahua.

So, if any NM folks are in the neighborhood and want to meet up, or can
recommend a good site in that area, give me a call on my cell. I'm just
packing up now, and should hit Socorro by 1600 MDT if not sooner (all
depends on that I40/I25 mess in Albuquerque), and should be in cell
coverage all the way down I25 after I leave here around 0830 MDT.

I'm planning to look for a site in what appears to be relatively flat NF
land north of Hwy 60 and east of the VLA, or if that doesn't look good,
heading into the hills SE of the VLA. If anybody has a better idea, or
can save me some time hunting, I'd appreciate it.

Sincerely,
Jon Kolb
