Hi Brian,
Nice image.
The image is mirror reversed, perhaps you scanned it upside down?
If you open the image in Photoshop and drag the black point levels slider
in the combined RGB Channel to the right to about level 25, the sky
background will get darker, and become a more aesthetically pleasing dark
blue color, IMO. This will also increase the contrast which I think helps
the image.
