[APML] Guiding a TV-85 on a GM-8 with an ST-4
Hi all,
Sorry for the double post but I want to reach as many who use this
combo as possible.
I was able to setup my scope, mount and get it guiding with an ST-4
last night. The mount and ST-4 are new to me so I was rather amazed.
They appear to work well together. The ST-4 is on a 70mm f/10
guidescope. What I'd like to get is feedback on optimising the ST-4s
settings for this setup. I am using it as a standalone guider. I
believe I had the tracking rate on the GM-8 set at 0.5X, any other
suggestions?
Most readings were: -1, 0, 1, 2s, -2s with an occaisonal 5, 6, and even
a 9 thrown in once. 3 times during the 1 hour test, the ST-4 beeped a
time or two, gave brightness and location readouts, then continued
guiding. Any comments?
Thanks,
Alan
P.S. If any of you also use the ST-4 on say a 12" LX200, I could also
use some suggestions on settings for that scope. That will be through
an off-axis guider.
