You are right. Here's an unprocessed full frame M45 taken with the C8 and
a Meade f/6.3 focal reducer:

I'm guessing he omitted the fact that a focal reducer was used...he does
mention Anti-Vignetting in the processing section, which would probably
not be necessary at f/10 with a GEG.
