Re: [APML] Mr.Zangs comment

Don,
I haven't shot through an SCT since 1990, but here is a shot through an
8" f6 Newtonian. Same focal length as the "wide angle" Meade 8" SCT. FOV is
about 1 x 1.5 degrees. Forget large format on these scopes, they barely
light up 35mm. Mr. Zang's image appeared to be taken through something
around 600mm.

Mr. Zang.....hmmm. Has anyone in our group shot M31 through an SCT? I've
looked at it through my 12" and a 31 Nagler and it still didn't fit into the
FOV. Can anyone here caculate the exact FOV on 35mm and medium format films,
using an 8" LX200 at f/10 and F/6.3? I would really love to respond to him,
but I want to get my "sceintific" facts down first. I already proved it out
visually.
