[APML] Mercury wavy line

Hello
Can someone explain to me why Mercury produced a wavy line across the
Sun's disk during the transit. I would expect to see a curved line
because of the earth's rotation during the event and the Earth's north
pole being tilted toward the Sun but the line has at least two waves in
it.
