Re: [APML] Article on MUSM, english version
Well, the fact is that the translation of the article was done by Juan
Conejero :-)
I wrote the article in spanish and after, I don't knew how to write it in
english!
Regarding the MUSM, I prefer to make the masks in this manner to
have
separately many masks: stars, small scale details, lights, etc. After, I
can combine
masks or I can process exclusively stars, or details, or galaxy cores,
etc.
Another mask to isolate high contras small scale dark details is the same
to select the bright ones, but with the image inverted! In this manner,
you
can attack only the zones you want, and by succesives MUSM you can
modelate the subject to your taste.
The image of M51 made by Gil Jones was a processing challenge in
the
SBIG list. I made 8 different MUSMs. View my result at

But please, remamber that this is only a processing challenge, you can
view the beautiful image by Gil Jones at

Vicent,
Your english is excellent! I
wish I could speak spanish that well... "Holy Smokes" is
just an exclamation... kind of like "Holy Cow" ... both are
basically meaningless and I don't have a clue how they came to be a part
of the english language... I guess the closest translation would be the
french "Mon Dieu!"
By the way, I love
flamenco and have played it for many years... some day I would love to
visit Spain ... I envy you living right there in the center of that
culture!
