Re: Custom GEM's... was [Re: [APML] CG5 v/s Advanced CG5]
Must be like those cars you see in people's garages. Always ready to be restored, then passed to along to someone else with good intentions. I'll keep my eye out for one.
I found website that has quite a few that look "Homemade"..

Good luck on your project, let us know how it turns out!

Thanks for the mutual admiration of Ed Byers' unique contribution to our hobby!

Just hang out on Astromart... daily - that's what I did and here's what seemed
to be the case; Some of these bigger gears never get used... they just pass
hands like collectibles... mine have found a home and *will* be used, barring
extreme misfortune. When the larger gears do show... the asking price inhibits
many buyers. Even at 'discount' and 'sacrifice' prices - they're kinda
expensive. This means that typically they will be available for awhile, and the
seller might be willing to negotiate the price. Have your budget available, but
haggle for a day or three before you commit to a final price... don't forget
safe shipping and real insurance charges... this can be substantial with the
large and heavy pieces. Good Luck and...
Happy Hunting !!!
