RE: [APML] Tech Pan Developing Q
Negative intensification with selenium toner is not a new technique. Fine
art B&W photographers have used it for years. The View Camera Store has a
news letter called D-Max. One of the back issues covers the technique well.
Go to viewcamerastore.com under books and videos. Call Dennis on the phone
and he will refer you to the correct edition. Time recommendations for
negative intensification with selenium are similar to development. They are
starting points and should be tested. I would recommend testing different
times on a few test negatives since the effect is permanent.
These guys are experts at controlling contrast on B&W films. They sell an
excellent book on the subject, Beyond the Zone System, by Phil Davis.
