Hi all

What is the difference between this two mounts? The only one i found is that
the second comes with a 2" diameter steel tripod legs... Should i pay 90
dolars more for it? Right now i'm searching for a economic mount, but that
isn't a toy.

Well, unfortunately anything that comes from China is exactly that a toy! If your serious about getting a mount that can do Astro-photography and you want a step above a barn door mount. I kid you not a barn door mount can out do a CG-5 anything and last you want to do more than piggy-back or camera lens only work. Then the cheapest mount that you can get is the Vixen Super Polaris DX mount. Next on the list is then Losmandy G11 then the you get into the really expensive stuff like the Tak EM-200, AP 600E Mountain Instruments mounts and so on. Me I've been surviving with the AP 900 goto. I began in this endeavor almost 20 years ago with the Celestron Polaris mounts and the Televue systems mount and even had a Vixen DX for a while. Trust me your money ahead and you can eliminate a lot of frustration by going to broke and getting one of the above mentioned mounts. BTW if your mechanically inclined you can strike out on your own and build your own mount. I've seen several examples over the last several month's with people who have rolled their own and happily doing AP. The current crop of mounts that are being made for Astro are only designed for holding and tracking the optics for visual use only. Just because a manufacturer say's they can take pictures don't make it so. Good Luck and ...
