Hi Warren,
                  I knew that the B & G data was severly clipped. This was
done to bring out the red in the nebulosity. Here are two scans, one at low
res, default setting in the Minolta Dimage Dualscan III, the 2nd is a 16 bit
scan with slight adjustments. Both resized to fit on the web page.

I would very much like here more about "the toe" and would love to see your
adjustment. You can send it to me at ecdon@cox.net.
I am just learning the scanning and processing techniques, so any insight
would be appreciated.
