Roland, I see I hit a nerve. I am not as expert as you but, like you
(until my current web page) am used to doing all my HTML in Notepad.exe

I should say I agree with your comments but I do think there is a role for
tables in ensuring captions stay where they are put and graphics that are
being assembled to create a particular effect are ensured to create the
effect you intend.

My web page has used tables to put captions under the thumbnails.
