Chris, just like John Mirtle, those of us shooting from up here get this a lot.
Aurora is easily captured on film even though you cannot see it. Also, over the
course of that star trail, it could come and go and you might not have been
watching even if it had been visual.
Looks exactly like aurora to me for what it is worth.
