RE: [APML] Choosing a 300mm lens...
HI Eric,
I've been using a Nikkor 300mm f/4.5 EDIF AI-S lens for astro work for
awhile now, and I have been very happy with the results. I'm sure you can
find these lenses used - my guess is they go for around $500 or so.
Excellent lens - very good wide open.
You can see several examples of images taken with the 300mm on my web pages
(listed below); unfortunately my server is down and I likely won't be back
"online" for at least a week.
