Joel,
The mount is the most important piece of equipment for AP. I would focus more energy on that.
Both the NP101 and FSQ106 are Petzval designs and around f/5. They cost about the same. They both deliver flat focal surfaces.
A wide T-mount is available from Tak that vignettes less on 35mm. The Tak also has a nice camera angle adjuster. The Tak supports medium format.
