Your comment about bright stars is a good one. As a slide film, E200 does tend to render large, less colorful stars.
Because E200 is red-happy, it will burn out easily on medium to bright red areas, so E200 is not a great choice for most red nebulae. However, if your aim is to capture faint H-alpha nebulosity, there is no better film (except TP). For example, I have a wide field shot of M42 on 400F. It's decent, but it did not well record the beautiful faint red nebulosity that pervades the region. My plan is to deeply shoot the same region on E200. Yes, M42 will be oversaturated, but I will mask in only the faint areas from the E200 shot.
About pushing, my understanding is that it only makes a dark slide easier to scan. If your objective to capture faint red nebulosity, then you have no choice but to expose long enough. If the exposure isn't long enough, pushing will not bring out the faint stuff.
