Dave, I have a Nikon coolscan LS2000, and it wont focus the entire image at
the same time, Id not recomend Nikon anymore after paying this much for such
junk. Im now searching for a better scanner.

Subject: [APML] New Scanner
Well, I an returning the PrimeFilm 3600 Pro scanner that I bought this week.
The price of this scanner was $499 plus tax. I can't get it to focus
correctly. I have been using the PrimeFilm 1800i which was $189 plus tax
and, this cheaper model works better except for the curves. So, I
downloaded SilverFast (demo so far) and solved the curves problem.
I am thinking about buying the Nikon CoolScan IV but, it requires at
least Win/98SE, and I only have Win/98. I have heard that, to upgrade to
98SE it requires a reformat of the C drive. Does anybody have any comments
on the Nikon CoolScan IV and maybe my options for a better scanner in this
price range. I found the CoolScan IV for the price of $589 online, but, I
still would have to spend another $89 or so for Win/98SE.
